The only major Iraqi government building U.S. didn't bomb was the ministry of oil building in Baghdad and the Conference Palace. In fact, the U.S. sent troops to protect it (but not the Museum of Antiquities...) At the entrance (right side) and surrounding walls, the U.S. military has placed soldiers, tanks and machine gun positions to protect the ministry. Most Iraqis believe the US invasion is about oil, not about liberation; many believe Saddam is an "Ali Baba" - a thief - but go on to say that the U.S. is a even bigger "Ali Baba."
