During the U.S. invasion, the U.S. fired numerous missiles at places they believed to be Saddam's hideouts. On one such famous incident, in early April, they received a "tip" that Saddam and his sons were meeting at the Al-Sa'ah "The Watch" Restaurant (fancy American fast food, famous for it's "Kentucky" fried chicken) in the western Baghdad district of Mansour, the upscale Sunni neighborhood.

U.S. warplanes dropped several big bombs (creating the holes shown in the center of the photo) and completly demolished several houses which were next to the restaurant. The restaurant and a shopping mall across the street suffered minor damage in the second attack. People denied Saddam and his sons were there during the attack.

At the time, the Pentagon insisted they'd killed Saddam in this attack. Instead, they destroyed several houses and a dozen business, killing over 14 people including one entire family of seven. After the attack, U.S. military warned local resident not to come close to the bombed site because it was contaminated by Depleted Uranium (DU) weapons. They came to clean up the site without leaving any evidence, but didn't offer any help to rebuild the shops and houses that were destroyed by the U.S. bombing. Many local residents are very angry about the U.S. invasion and want U.S. to out of Iraq, but also some express support the U.S. military actions and want them to stay for a while in Iraq.
